This is an auspicious year for the Pan African Parliament (PAP) as we celebrate our 10th anniversary.
We have overcome many obstacles and we believe that we are on the right path to ensuring that the PAP is best placed to contribute in a meaningful way towards the democratic integration of the continent.
I believe that with a full-time Parliament, we will have the capacity to effectively help address change so that many more of our continent’s people can be aided on the path of development.
The PAP itself is developing and at the heart of this is the Bureau. Thus we would like to pay homage to Hon Bethel Nnaemeka Amadi MP, the President of the PAP, and the four Vice-Presidents: Hon Roger Nkodo Dang MP, Hon Suilma Hay Emhamed Saleh MP, Hon Loide Kasingo MP and Hon Ashebir Woldegiorgis Gayo MP, for their efforts and commitment towards the continued evolution, leadership and administration of the Parliament.
The PAP Members are also at the centre of the institution’s developments and we recognise and acknowledge their hard work and diligence in maintaining its growth and effectiveness. We would also like to show our gratitude to all the Parliaments working with us for their continued support.
Our thanks go to our dedicated staff for their unflagging efforts in ensuring the PAP’s workings proceed professionally, smoothly and systematically. Our grateful appreciation goes towards South Africa’s government and its people for accommodating the PAP at its headquarters in Gauteng this past decade.
We hope this special edition of One Africa, One Voice will commemorate the occasion and serve as a benchmark for the PAP’s feats and work.
