ABOUT

The Pan African Parliament (PAP) was established as an organ of the African Union in order to ensure the full participation of African peoples in the development and economic integration of the continent. The first Parliament was inaugurated on 18 March 2004 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. PAP’s headquarters are in Midrand, South Africa.

Bureau of the PAP
The Bureau of the PAP is pursuing a clear strategic vision, mission and mandate to ensure a Pan African Parliamentary institution that will provide a common platform for African people to fully participate in the decision-making processes for the political and socio-economic development and integration of the continent: ‘A continental institution harnessing One Africa, One Voice’. The Bureau is supported by the Clerk and the Secretariat.

It comprises Hon Roger Nkodo Dang from Cameroon representing Central Africa, Hon Eduardo Joaquim Mulémbwè from Mozambique representing Southern Africa, Hon Safia Elmi Djibril from Djibouti representing East Africa, Hon Suilma Hay Emhamed Saleh from the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic representing North Africa and Hon Dr Bernadette Lahai from Sierra Leone representing West Africa.
